Jessi May has been the Artistic Director of Santa Paula Theater Center for the past five years. She earned her MFA in Theater from UC Irvine as the recipient of the Chancellor’s Full Ride Scholarship and continued her training and performing at Harvard University with the Moscow Art Theatre, the American Repertory Theatre, and South Coast Repertory. Jessi May has directed on SPTC’s Main Stage for nearly a decade and is a co-director of the Santa Paula Film Festival. She created and starred in the one-woman show and short film Isn’t That Just My Life, which has been featured in 33 festivals worldwide and honored with 12 Best Actress awards. She has appeared in the feature films Time Capsule and The Heiress and just wrapped playing Harper in the short film Hit the Seat, a leader standing at the fragile line between justice and vengeance. Her most recent theater role was Blanche in A Streetcar Named Desire.
